Top 3 free android email apps

Any smart phone without internet is just like a dumb terminal. If you are using Android based smart phone, then you might be using internet. If you are the  one who want to access email accounts with Android smart phone then here are the top 3 free android email apps for you.

Gmail by Google Inc.

If you have Gmail account (email@gmail.com) or Google Apps hosted professional email account (email@yourdomain.com), then it is highly recommended to use Gmail over other android email apps.

Gmail pushes new email automatically to your handset in nearly real time as it arrives on Gmail servers. Gmail syncs email so that you can access it while you are offline. It is tightly integrated with Contacts and other Android apps. You can search all messages. Supports multiple Gmail accounts (I have 10 email accounts including Google Apps hosted accounts, works Great!). View messages in conversation view. Stars, labels and many more features.

However if you have a third party hosted email services (other than Gmail/Google Apps), you can’t use Gmail app.

K-9 Mail by K-9 Dog Walkers

K-9 Mail is an open-source community contributed email client with features such as push mail using IMAP IDLE, message refiling, email signatures, Bcc-to-self, folder subscriptions, all folder synchronization, return-address configuration, keyboard shortcut, saving attachments to SD, empty Trash, message sorting. K-9 supports IMAP, POP3 and Exchange 2003/2007 (with WebDAV).

I personally prefer K-9 Mail because it’s a community contributed open source project with a few bugs. Also it’s a ad free application so no internet overheads for showing advertisements.
